The 11h Annual Run for Their Lives! is a 5K & 10K RUN that benefits Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption. CARA is a non-profit / no-kill animal rescue located in Sanford.
The 5k Race begins at 7:15am and the 10K begins at 8:15 am (both races begin at the same start line location inside Kiwanis Park). Or choose the new Challenge! Run BOTH the 5k and 10k. (Challenge participants receive a finisher medal! )
The race has a beautiful course which winds through Kiwanis Park and Sanford’s Greenway, as well as into the Historic (hilly!) neighborhoods of Sanford.
For the 5K and 10K you may choose between the timed race or an untimed fun run.
We have a "Challenge Race" !! It was such a hit last year we have decided to keep the Challenge!! Run BOTH the 5K and the 10K for a Special Challenge medal! Overall combined times of both races will get an award!
Leashed/vaccinated dogs are allowed to run with their owners. Run or walk with your dog, your kids, your neighbors, or your friends. Remember that dogs, like people, need to prepare for a race.
Strollers and DOGS are welcome! (Walking pace for 5k only please)
Pre-Registered runners are guaranteed a t-shirt through August 14th. Runners who register after August 14th will receive a t-shirt as available.
zzzzzzzzz! Prefer to Sleep For Their Lives? zzzzzzzzzzz If you won’t be able to participate but would still like to support Run For Their Lives! and CARA, simply register as normal and you’ll have the option to have your t-shirt shipped to you. (T-Shirt guaranteed through August 14th).
